Hole 16  Friesian*

Par:  4 (Fore)
Yardage: 453 yards from Black Tees
Course Rank: 2nd in overall difficulty

Green Surface: 10,230 Square Feet
Distinguishing features: This is a Long par 4. White sand bunker guards the right side of the fairway where your tee shot should land. Tall trees block you shortcutting the dogleg left. Water behind the tee complex and on the right of the fairway should not come into play if you hit straight.

Advice from the Pro: I hope you're on the proper tee box or you almost guaranteed a bogey. The wind will not help, and it is a very long dog leg left. Slicers are in the water or in hazards on the right. Try to cut the corner and you’ll be in a mess. Remember that wedge lesson you meant to take? Pin on the left of the green will produce a big unpredictable break.

The Friesian is a horse breed originating in Friesland, Netherlands. Although the breed resembles a light draft horse, Friesians are graceful and nimble for their size. During the Middle Ages, it is believed that the ancestors of Friesian horses were in great demand as war horses throughout continental Europe as their size enabled them to carry a knight in full armor. The Friesian remains popular  today as a carriage horse, as it is a powerful horse and its high-stepping action is eye-catching. It is also easy to match teams of black horses. Friesians are also good all-around horses, used for showing, driving, and general riding, and are also used as circus horses.

The Friesian is most often recognized by its black coat color, long, silky, thick mane and tail. Due to its flashy appearance, the Friesian has become popular in the film industry. The appearance of the Friesian stallion Goliath in the 1985 film, Ladyhawke, ignited a worldwide interest in these horses. The horses have also been used in films such as Eragon, The Mask of Zorro, Alexander, and The Chronicles of Narnia. Photo and article supplied by Wikipedia.org
