Hole 8 Morgan*
Par: 4 (Four)
Yardage: 367 yards from Black Tees
Course Rank: 5th in overall difficulty
Green Surface: 8,370 Square Feet
Distinguishing features: Willow patch near the tee box. Woop-de-do mounding right off the tee box near left fairway boundary. Grass bunker on left of green and native walnut tree guarding the right side.

Advice from the Pro: Find the barber pole. Do not go right! This is a very deceptive Hole from the tee box. Anything right is in the wet cabbage rough. Your best placement is slightly left of the barber pole. (Really!) Don't go pin seeking here, especially if it's a blue right placement. In my experience it’s best to putt from the middle up hill to the blue right location.

*The Morgan is one of the earliest horse breeds developed in the United States. Morgans come in a variety of colors although they are most commonly bay, black, and chestnut. All Morgans trace back to a single foundation sire, a stallion named Figure, who was born in West Springfield, Massachusetts in 1789. He was at one time owned by a man named Justin Morgan and the horse later came to be identified by the name of this particular owner.
A popular children's book, "Justin Morgan Had a Horse" by Marguerite Henry, and a movie about the pair made by Walt Disney Studios in 1972 took liberties with the depiction of historical events. In 1961, the Morgan horse was named the official state animal of Vermont and in 1970, the official state horse of Massachusetts and state animal of Vermont. Photo and article by Wikipedia.org
