About the Foundation

Founded by James and Marian Aland in 2005, it was organized to benefit the lives of students and young people in Davis and Weber County Utah. James and Marian had the desire to give back by establishing a non-profit that directly the local community. As important as national and worldwide organizations are to mankind, local charitable activity can have the most direct affects on you and your family.

With the population growing from new move-in’s and families having children, the goal of the Aland Foundation is to strengthen the education of those who will be the future professionals and leaders of our local communities. James felt it was the obligation of all citizens to strengthen the community through generous charitable giving, volunteer work, and any activities that conserve quality of life for future generations.

To demonstrate their determination, James and Marian donated park space, school lots, church lots, and wildlife range land. He developed large residential neighborhoods throughout Weber and Davis counties including the cities of Clearfield (Country Village, Green Hill Estates), Clinton (Davis Farms, Gentry Farms, Crane Field Estates and Golf Course), Farr West (Remuda Subdivision and Golf Course), Huntsville (Green Hill Country Estates), Layton (Chapel Hills, Eastview), North Ogden (Lakeview Heights, Pebble Beach), Plain City (Still Creek Ph. II), Roy (Aland of Honey), South Ogden (Spring Creek), and West Haven (Longhorn, White Rail Farms, Kanesville Meadows).

After years of residential development, James branched out into golf course construction in the 2000’s. He completed Remuda Golf Course in Farr West in 2005 and Crane Field Golf Course in 2010. His desire was to increase the amenities and recreational opportunities for families living on the west side of Interstate 15. He succeeded in building two beautiful regulation 18 hole courses to serve the residents and tourists of the community. He also succeeded in preserving the Golf Course properties with conservation easements to ensure they would never be lost like so many other precious resources in our state.
