Every semester, 400 to 500 students at Weber State University are forced to drop out, just months away from achieving their degrees. FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is a scramble format?
A. All players hit an individual ball, but then the team chooses the best hit ball for the location to play their next shot from. This continues for every shot, including putts. This can results in some pretty good scores for the team. Often times there is a requirement that the team uses each of the players drives once or twice.
Q. How do sponsorships work?
A. Your business can either sponsor a team by paying their registration fees, or you can buy one of the event day sponsorships that don’t include a team registration fee, but do include other things such as a sign on a tee box, a business logo on banners, etc. You can also donate prizes for the raffle drawing or you can donate cash in any amount that will go directly to the beneficiaries of the fundraiser. All sponsorships include logo branding on the event marketing materials. Link to Sponsorship packages.
Q. Do sponsorship packages include a team registration?
A. No, except for the gold and silver sponsors, otherwise they are sold separately. If your company wants to sponsor a team of four by paying their registration fees, we will include the company logo on printed and digital marketing materials. But to receive the extra sponsor perks, such as signs on the tee box, a separate sponsor package must be purchased. The goal of sponsorships is to help supplement expenses so we can donate as much as possible to the fundraiser beneficiaries.
Q. Can sponsors give away promotional materials, food, and beverage during the tournament.
A. Yes, as long as it’s approved by the tournament director and the course management. You will want to get a head count of participants from the director also, to make sure there is enough for everybody.
Q. Can you tell me more about the fundraising beneficiaries.
A. Yes, this is a very good fundraiser that goes directly to Students in need at Weber State University. Visit Cranefieldgolf.com/catapult for success stories.
Q. Do I have to pay and register all members of my foursome at the same time?
A. Yes, we are requiring full team pre-payment and registration in order to reserve your spot in the tournament. There will be no standby list.
Q. How do we see the event results?
A. Results will be posted in the clubhouse and online on Facebook as soon as all the team finish, and scores are tallied. Please allow 24 for any corrections that may be needed.
Q. How do I claim my team winnings?
A. If you were a member of a winning team, you will be give shop credit in the form of gift cards or account credit pegged to your name, email and phone number. (If we do not have the full information of the team, all winnings will be credited to the team captain.) If you were the winner of a raffle prize, auction item, or other merchandise, it will be available to pick up at will-call at the clubhouse after 4pm on the day of the event, or you are free to pick it up during business hours the following thirty days.
Q. Do I need to pay a tip during the registration process?
A. It’s optional, you do not have to tip during the registration checkout. The event tips do help to offset the cost of credit card transactions, which directly adds to the funds donated to the scholarship.
Q. Are team registration and other donations tax deductible?
A. Yes, we can provide a donation receipt through our 501(c)(3) charity organization upon request. This includes team registrations and all the add-ons, and online contests such as the raffle giveaways and silent auction.
Q. What does Tee Handicapping mean?
A. It means you change the color of tee you start from on each hole, depending on how well you played the previous hole. Thus creating a handicap method during the tournament to level out the playing abilities slightly. Like most handicapping methods, it is not perfect, but it can add some interest and fairness to the event.
